The scope of the designation covers the approval and testing of tanks, pressure vessels and containers for the carriage of dangerous goods and the transport classification of dangerous goods. Swiss Safety Center AG carries out inspections including road tankers, tank containers, railway tank wagons, bulk container material and pressure vessels.

Swiss Safety Center AG  is also a  Notified Body according to TPED (Directive 2010/35/EU) and an accredited and certified inspection agency.

Swiss Safety Center AG experts are involved in international committees in the development of rules, directives and standards.
